We, Luxuriant magazine, sadly announce the death of Florian Senfter aka John starlight aka Zombie Nation. Florian is the father of “Kernkraft 400″, considered one of the most remixed electronic songs ever. The funeral will take place on December 19th, at the Electricity festival in Rockhal. Florian will rise from his body bag to smash his techno directly into your brain. Watch out! The dead are walking.
Your secret to wake up the dead on the dancefloor ?
Well it just happens with the passion of music. When people can feel what you feel, that’s a good challenge. And I need to be challenged to keep it interesting.
Happy to see people dancing and screaming as your sound bite their brain ?
I don’t sit on a chair watching people. When I play I feel their reaction, it’s pushing me as well.
How does a raver brain’s taste ?
I haven’t tried, it’s too poisoned.
Is Munich’s graveyard calm enough to create techno music ?
It’s a good combination between work and relaxation. I was born and I died in Munich. I can rest in peace here…
So many years after death what do you still expect from a dj set ?
Every time is new, I don’t have a routine. I open my box and start to play. I can go wrong, that’s why it’s interesting. It’s a perpetual improvisation, I try to surprise people.
In early free and rave parties was the human meat freshest ?
It was good times. You know, we used to organize parties, so my friends and I had to do everything: entrance, bar and watch if the police came. Playing a dj set was the reward.
An artist you would prefer dead ?
Crazy Frog.
George Romero’s best movie ?
“The Night of the Living Dead”, the original version, it’s a real social drama. The remake sucks.
What are the ingredients like in the zombie kitchen ?
Organics. In studio I try to give a special attention to any sound. By recording drums and synthesizers with a mic I can get a pure sound.
Kernkraft 400 : does the track rest in peace now ?
I wish but it keeps popping up everywhere. Kernkraft is undead, and sometimes it’s boring, for example when you hear it before a match, in a football stadium…

How many drinks before walking like a zombie ?
Not so much, on stage, 2-3 beers.
